Annex Release and Transfer Paths

Santa Rosa Correctional Institution Annex is an FDC satellite at the Santa Rosa prison complex. It shares the East Milton location with the main institution and sits within one state correctional system. An assignment from the Annex to the main unit, Work Camp, Blackwater River, or another Florida prison is a transfer. The person remains in state custody, and the same DC-number record continues.

A true prison exit is established through the FDC released record. Date Out-Custody documents the completed state-custody event. Current Release Date is a prospective field and can change. Community supervision may begin after confinement ends, so a second search in FDC Supervised Population is needed when the question is whether state control continues.

Confirm an Annex Release

Use the FDC released-inmate branch, not SRSO Jail View. Search by the six-character DC number when it is known. A name search can be narrowed with race, sex, release dates, and county of commitment. Compare the photograph, offenses, sentencing county, case number, aliases, and dates to avoid joining the wrong record to the Annex.

2. Open the detail and confirm the person with sentence and case information.
3. Read Date Out-Custody for a completed release; treat Current Release Date as subject to change.
4. Review location and incarceration history for an internal move from the Annex.
5. Search Supervised Population and Florida VINE for post-release status and notification context.

Annex Records and Contact

The Annex does not maintain an independent public county release list. Its public record is part of the FDC search family. The detail can show a photo, DC number, aliases, current location or status, initial receipt date, Current Release Date, sentence and offense history, counties, case numbers, and supervision data. These fields locate the record but may not explain the full computation or every transfer.

Request documents through FDC public records. Identify the full name, DC number, birth date if known, and date range. Ask for specific existing records such as admission and release history, sentence structure, release certificate or type, transfer history, computation or gain-time ledger, and nonexempt photograph. A narrow request is easier to price and process than a request for every file.

The Santa Rosa complex includes the main institution, Annex, and Work Camp. Official audit material treats these as related components. That context explains why public location wording may change without a discharge. It also explains why facility-specific record calls may route back to centralized FDC Admission and Release or the public-records custodian.

Nearby institutions create another risk. Santa Rosa County Detention Facility is operated by SRSO, while Blackwater River is an FDC contract prison. The Annex and Blackwater both use DC numbers. The county jail uses booking and MNI numbers. The identifier is often the fastest clue to the right custodian.

Annex Release Date Meaning

FDC's Current Release Date reflects the sentence information then in the system. Florida law and department rules account for sentence structure, jail credit, gain time, forfeiture or restoration, and other constraints. A court change, new sentence, detainer, disciplinary action, or release-authority decision may alter the displayed date.

For a future release, record the date and recheck closer to the event. Do not call it guaranteed. For a past event, look for Date Out-Custody in the released record. If an exact basis or calculation is important, request the release certificate and computation material. The sentencing court docket can also show orders that changed the sentence, but the court file alone may not give the actual prison exit date.

Annex Supervision After Release

Confinement may end before all state supervision ends. Use FDC Supervised Population after finding a completed release. The result may show supervision begin date, current location, status, supervision type, scheduled termination date, and case history.

“Active” generally indicates community supervision. “Active Suspense” can mean the person is temporarily unavailable to direct supervision because of jail or another facility. “Absconder” means whereabouts are unknown to supervision and a warrant has issued. Each status requires its own plain description. None is equivalent to current incarceration at the Annex.

The supervising officer, not the website, controls individual reporting instructions. County misdemeanor probation and confidential juvenile supervision are separate systems and may not appear in this FDC database.

ICE and Annex Discharges

An immigration detainer or transfer can affect what occurs after the state-prison event. The FDC record proves the state part. The ICE locator addresses current or recent immigration detention and must be checked separately. A no-result in one database does not rewrite the other agency's record.

ICE ODLS searches by A-number and country of birth, or by exact name and country of birth with optional birth date. It may lag, omit records, and does not include minors. The Tallahassee check-in office covers Santa Rosa County, but it is not a detention facility or a release desk. Its existence says nothing by itself about an Annex release.

When the destination after Date Out-Custody is unclear, request the relevant FDC transfer history and use authorized ICE or court channels. State the result narrowly: released from FDC, transferred within FDC, under supervision, or confirmed in another custodian's system.

Note: State discharge and immigration custody are separate facts that should be verified from their respective agencies.

Annex Release Search Fallbacks

An empty released search is not enough to conclude that the person remains confined or never left the Annex. Recheck the DC number, aliases, spelling, approximate age, release range, and county of commitment. Search the current inmate-population branch and incarceration history as well. A new FDC location can explain why the Annex is no longer shown while custody remains active.

When online fields do not reconcile, use the sentencing-county docket to identify a corrected judgment or later order, then ask FDC for the corresponding admission, transfer, computation, and release material. The court record supplies legal context; the FDC record supplies the state custody event. Florida VINE may document a notice, but it is a notification service rather than the official release certificate.

Keep the result tied to its source. A location change proves a transfer only when FDC history supports it. Date Out-Custody proves exit from FDC, not the end of every supervision term or hold. An authorized record response can resolve the remaining destination question without turning a missing public field into a guess.

Annex Release Record Matching

Use the same DC number in every FDC branch and document request. Names can change or collide, while the state identifier follows the person across the complex. Compare the sentencing county, court case, offenses, initial receipt date, and photograph before joining two records. When the dates differ, ask FDC which field reflects the current calculation rather than choosing the date that best fits an expectation.
